We're Here for You...

Friends and Neighbors,

Thanks for joining us this year for the Memorial Day Parade, one of the historic traditions of the volunteers at the Orient Fire Department.

Founded in 1895, the Department responds to fire as well as medical emergencies. As your friends and neighbors, it is our honor to volunteer in Orient.

While your taxes go towards the Orient Fire “District,” which provides facilities, apparatus, and training, the volunteers at the Orient Fire “Department” continue to offer community support and activities. Some examples of this are fire safety with Oysterponds Elementary, community CPR, visits from Santa, and parades. The ability to serve the community in this way comes from our fundraisers and donations.

Please consider making a donation. This can be done either by mail or online at our donation page.

With many thanks,

Chief Richard Gillooly and the Members of the Orient Fire Department

We would also like to take this opportunity to note that currently in our district, there are properties that are difficult to access, as well as impassible roads or rights-of-way. As volunteer rescuers and firefighters, we would like to encourage you to help us protect your family and property, and that of your neighbors, by maintaining sufficient access to your property as per the access requirements of the town code 280-109.
